Hawaii Parkour is an educational fitness organization, dedicated to sharing the healthy movement and risk-assement strategies that Parkour training can provide.
2022 has the makings to be a VERY exciting year for the Hawaii parkour community. Our community training sessions have slowly but surely been growing, our classes for kids in Kailua, Makiki and Kalihi are expanding, and our support and partnership with the talented Roland of Set In Motion has allowed us to set our sights on some bigger projects.
Rail Set Up!
We are nearing our fundraising goals from our classes to purchase a set of rails/bars to build a portable, modular system that we can bring to classes, jams and other events. Eventually, we envision building a permanent version at a local park. We are still trying to connect with and garner support among park officials and community leaders to help in picking a spot for a parkour play space. This will be a long-term goal for us this year.
Classes!
Classes resume this week! On Mondays in Kailua, we have our 10 and Up class at 3pm, and Ages 6-9 at 4pm, meeting at Kalāheo Neighborhood Park. We may also add a Wednesday afternoon class here as well, as the month goes on. We do also accept younger participants to try out our classes.
In Town, our Makiki Class for 7 and Up starts at 5pm, and we have an adultʻs class at 6pm. We meet at Makiki District Park on the Keʻeaumoku side.
In partnership with Roland of Set In Motion, we are also holding monthly classes in Kalihi at Fern park on Saturday mornings. This is a wide age range group, from about 6 to 13.
