Hawaii Parkour is a parkour community based on exploring and celebrating the creative, mindful, and skillful expressions of movement. From its origins in France in the 1990s to today, Parkour training can mean different things to different people, but there remains a common thread – training our bodies and minds to explore movement and our environment, to keep us healthy, happy, and connected to our communities, cities and towns. Parkour, whatever it ends up being to you, should be first and foremost a betterment of yourself for yourself. We promote the training philosophies of parkour as tools to help cultivate strength, mobility, resilience and confidence in our students.
Our classes are designed for students to progress through movements safely and confidently. We believe that parkour as a physical practice engages the mind as well as the body, and allows a playful spirit to serve us as we age, helping us to find opportunities for mind-body connection outside of the gym and in our everyday lives.
Current Lead Coach and Organizer, Alana Hart (click for bio)
Alana was one of the first Hawaii Parkour students and has been hooked ever since. She loves the freedom of creativity, the grace of flow and the challenges both mental and physical that parkour presents. She’s always eager to share in those experiences with fellow practitioners and newcomers as well. Alana received her instructor certification in March 2015 at the Parkour Generations A.D.A.P.T. in Seoul, South Korea. As of 2018 Alana is our main Instructor on Oʻahu and focuses her energy towards promoting community jams and events, as well as personalized classes.

HIPK Early Organizers and Coaches
Our organization was founded in 2007 by several talented movers and coaches, including Ozzi Quintero (Maha Kala Das), Richard Skowronski, David Saucedo Eilchman, Jason Triplett, Adam McClellan, and JC Watson. Over time our community has expanded and contracted, but we remember the hard work and dedication of these early members who helped spread the concept of parkour throughout O’ahu.
